Is yogurt good for bodybuilding?

Bodybuilding has always been an extremely popular hobby or past time worldwide. Bodybuilding is a form of exercise in which an individual primarily focuses on building, strengthening, enhancing or enlarging specific muscles on the body. When it comes to bodybuilding, there is a wide variety of different types of anabolic foods, protein bars, shakes and even dietary supplements that can benefit a bodybuilder.

With that being said, dairy products such as milk, eggs and yogurt can also be extremely beneficial to individuals that engage in bodybuilding. Something as simple as a small cup of plain non-fat yogurt is considered to be an exceptionally healthy muscle building snack.

Is yogurt anabolic?

Studies have shown that yogurt can help you build lean mass while also losing body fat. Yogurt has the ability to boost your immune system, it can be easily digested in the body and it is an excellent source of calcium and protein.

Bodybuilding yogurt recipes

While some bodybuilders prefer to eat yogurt plain and by itself as a quick snack, others prefer to use the yogurt as an ingredient when preparing a recipe. There is an abundance of different yogurt recipes or healthy snacks and even meals that can be made utilizing yogurt. One of the most well known bodybuilding yogurt recipes is the protein shake recipe. Protein shake recipes are extremely simple recipes in which one takes yogurt, either flavored or plain and combines it with protein powder and fruit. Dependent upon the type of fruit one prefers, there is a variety of different shakes that can be made using yogurt.

Frozen yogurt is also another commonly used form of yogurt that is generally utilized when preparing shakes and can also be made into a healthy snack served plain and topped with fresh fruit.

Popular breakfast meals like French toast, waffles and pancakes can be prepared with the use of yogurt.

Yogurt can also be used when preparing tasty meals for lunch or dinner such as soups, casseroles, tacos and even pastas.
