How did Dan Duchaine die?

I know he was only 48 years old when he died, and I've heard a lot of rumors like - that he had AIDS, that he committed suicide, that he was murdered, etc.

Personally I think it was due to his abuse of steroids.

Does anyone know the truth?

The reported cause of Dan Duchaine's death was complications from Polycystic Kidney Disease which is due to gene mutation, in other words it's genetic, he was born with it.

But I am sure his steroid use, (along with other drugs he took) made matters worse and shortened his life expectancy, making him die so young. Because some people with Polycystic Kidney Disease have lived as old as 90.

As a matter of fact a study done in 2009, reveled that using anabolic steroids when you have already existing kidney disease can result in kidney failure.

He died from drug abuse is the truth.

Dan Duchaine was no hero, he was a twice convicted criminal, a drug pusher, a drug addict and a womanizer.

He had all the style of a slimy pimp and all the charm of a used car salesman. He was one of those passive aggressive personalities, that smiles at you, complementing you to your face while he is thinking you are an asshole and how he is going to screw you over when your back is turned.

He was personally responsible for the huge increase in steroid abuse in bodybuilding in the 1980s and 1990s both by writing The Underground Steroid Handbook and also by being a major supplier of illegal anabolic steroids and other drugs.

He also brought dangerous drugs into bodybuilding, such as GHB, DNP, etc.

He himself was addicted to Nubain, and pushed it off on the young girls who came to him for advice, so he could get them high and have sex with them.

I met him once at the Arnold classic back in the 1990's he looked like Herman Munster, and acted like a douchebag.

His advice was totally irresponsible, he suggests maga doses this drug, than another drug to counteract the side effects of the first, then another drug to counter act the side effects of the second, etc.

Dan Duchaine helped to ruin bodybuilding, his influence made it go from great physiques like Frank Zane, Samir Bannout, Lee Haney, etc. and making to into the freak show it is today - bodybuilders with distended stomachs, looking like 20 pounds of crap in a 10 pound bag.

Do not follow his advice unless you want to end up dead before you reach 50 like he did.
