IGF vs HGH
Insulin-like Growth Factor vs HGH
HGH is a powerful hormone that can make you feel and look young again. Its results have been proven by numerous clinical trials, but there is another chemical that is not as well-known that has been theorized to have the same effects–it's called the insulin-like growth factor.
If you have been shopping around for HGH supplements, you may have heard of the insulin-like growth factor or IGF-1. IGF-1, like HGH has been linked to muscle growth. In fact, the two chemicals may be more similar that you knew.
How Do They Relate?
HGH is produced in the brain through the pituitary gland. Many ingredients, like L-DOPA and L-Arginine are designed to stimulate this gland to produce more HGH. HGH leads to an increase in muscle size, greater energy and better overall health, but the process is actually a little more complex than that. HGH doesn't directly affect muscle growth, but rather oversees is.
This is where IGF-1 comes into play. While HGH is produced in the pituitary gland, IGF-1 is created in the liver and other organs and they are what directly affect muscle growth and repair. So how are they related? When HGH is produced, it travels to the liver and other areas of the body through the bloodstream eventually attaching itself onto receptors. These receptors then produce chemicals that lead to the production of IGF-1. IGF-1 then promotes growth.
So Why Don't IGF-1 Supplements Exist?
Actually, IGF-1 supplements do exist but they are not as common as HGH because it is believed to be less efficiently absorbed. IGF-1 supplements usually come in spray form but skeptics still believe the best way to increase IGF-1 levels is through HGH production.
HGH supplements have been proven to stimulate the production of HGH through the pituitary gland. While it may appear more indirect to producing IGF-1 and therefore muscle gains, research suggests it is more safe and efficient than IFG-1 supplementation.
How Can I Increase My IFG-1 Levels?
The same answer to this question can be applied to those wanting to gain muscle. IGF-1 and muscle gains come from increasing HGH levels. HGH supplements are usually taken at night when the pituitary gland is most able to produce the growth hormone.
When searching for the most effective HGH supplements, make sure you find one that contains the right ingredients. Several proven ingredients include:
• L-DOPA
• GABA
• L-Arginine
• Alpha GPCConclusion
Now that you know the differences and relation between IGF-1 and HGH, you can be better prepared to know what ingredients work and what ones don't. We recommend focusing on HGH production rather than relying on an unproven theory of IGF-1 stimulation. You are bound to get results if you choose a proven HGH supplement.
