Ray Mentzer Workout

Posted by MorganI knew both the Mentzer brothers before they moved to California and Ray was definitely the stronger of the two. During the Arthur Jones pre-exhaustion phase of the mid-1970's I witnessed a leg session. It consisted of leg extensions to failure followed immediately by squats to failure. Ray did the whole weight stack on the leg extension plus Mike standing on the stack for seven reps, then squatted 540 pounds for 5 reps. Talk about an impressive display of strength!!
